Terriers: Burythorpe

Comprising: terrier of land at Burythorpe, Kennythorpe and Leavening signed by Francis Wright (12/08/1723); terrier of lands and tenements in Kennythorpe leased to Roger Wright (11/08/1740); terrier of College property at Kennythorpe, Burythorpe and Leavening (27/03/1790). A note at the bottom of this terrier indicates that 407 trees were cut off the estate in 1790 after the terrier was made.

Chapel Services: Registers

Registers of Chapel services showing attendance figures and names of preachers. Also some volumes include correspondence, notes and documents related to special services. Included in Vol 1 is a letter from Maurice Myers to the Dean with four stamps and the Order of Service of the marriage of Peter David Alston and Elizabeth Stephen Wordie (11 April 1953).

De Libro Nigro Pergamen

A volume containing a manuscript copy of Charles Ashton’s book, “De Libro Nigro Pergamen”. The book was called “De Libro Nigro Pergamen” to distinguish it from “The Black Paper Book which confusingly was also known as ‘ the Black Parchment book.’
The Black Paper Book passed between Vice-Chancellors of the University.
Ashton's volume contains copies of charters, foundations, benefactions, University regulations and privileges etc. The volume is indexed.

Cambridge in the 1940s

Includes: two versions of the same film, one with a voice-over, showing life in College and Cambridge just before the national call-up in 1940; black & white shots of College, University, Yorkshire Society's annual hike, R.D. Eagland's house with his sister and mother, playing tennis, colour shots of Lent Term 1941 Cuppers Final, new University Library, North Court under construction, punting on the Cam, tennis tournament at Girton 1941, R.A.F. training, outing to Ely, climbing New Court Tower, ice-skating in front of New Court, tea at Grantchester.
