College Laboratory Attendance

Includes student attendance registers for various courses/classes held at the College's Laboratory. The volumes list the names of the students who attended; the title of the course attended and the term. In some cases the tutor is named.

College Race Charts (1971-73): LMBC

Includes race charts for the Clare Novices Regatta, the Fairbairn Cup Race, the Colquhoun Sculls, the Bushe-Fox Sculls, and the C.U.B.C. Clinker IVs. Also includes a typescript list of points arising from the C.U.B.C. Captains' meeting [dated 5th October 1972] with the dates of forthcoming races for the Michaelmas and Lent terms.

Includes a draft typescript copy of a paper, addressed to Raymond Owen, which sets out the concerns of the authors with respect to the participation of College VIIIs in the Ladies' Cup Race at Henley Royal Regatta, and proposes the inclusion of British and overseas College crews in the Princess Elizabeth Cup Race.

Includes: miscellaneous correspondence and the minutes for the 1974, 1975, 1976 and 1977 May Ball; committee papers 1973-1977; typescript and manuscript lists of committee member duties for 1935-1936, 1938-1939, 1948, 1950-1953, 1956-1959, 1961, and 1963; correspondence and reports 1962-1975; minutes for committee meetings 1976-1982; committee lists for 1995, 1999 and 2000; court plans and draft notices.

Also includes a College Ball records book, containing lists of committee members, guarantors, and ticket applicants; balance sheets; and a collection of pastedown tickets, circulars and dance cards for the years 1909-1914. A signed pastedown ticket and loose-leaf dance card for the 1888 Lady Margaret Ball may be found at the back of the book.

Computi: Junior Bursar

Computi belonging to the Junior Bursar, entered onto rolls and signed by an auditor. Dated 10th November 1586 to 16th December 1768.

A computus is a set of calculations used to determine astronomical events and movable dates in the calendar, such as the date of Easter.
