Miscellaneous press cuttings and correspondence relating to Samuel Butler, his works and acquaintances. The majority of the correspondence consists of responses to 'The Way of All Flesh' by Butler's acquaintances, and includes autograph letters from C.A.C. Chudleigh, Arabella B. Fisher, Isabella Zanetta, O.T.J. Alpers, R.E. Dudgeon, H.E. Clarke, 'E.P.L', Donald S. Robertson and Sir Rennell Rodd. Also includes a typed copy of an unpublished extract from Samuel Butler's Notebook, 'Fusio ti Airolo via the Lago di Naret', with a note by A.T. Bartholomew; a printed examination paper from the Cambridge Classical Tripos, dated 18 May 1920; and a typed copy of an extract from Edward R. Pease's 'History of the Fabian Society'.
