Part of Papers of John Alexander
Department of Archaeology and Palaeoanthropology, University of New England, Armidale, N.S.W., Australia. Discusses revisions in his report (sent with letter; also Xerox copy of 1037 plan marked up with corrections [neither present]) sent for inclusion in the interim publication; plans for own publication. Very sorry that Alexander has given up directorship of Qasr Ibrim; discusses his own future involvement; matters of funding. Willing to fly over 'to talk the matter out with those who are to be involved.' E.E.S. [Egypt Exploration Society] needs 'to make its wishes felt rather more clearly than it has yet done.' Has talked to Peter Rowley-Conwy about sending radiocarbon samples. Will send field notes to Alexander; asks in return for copies of Alexander's field notes for 1037 in 1984 and prints of black and white negatives from the 1037 excavation.
