This album belonged to the Revd John Day Beales (BA 1861). It contains photographs of individuals, groups, views of St John's and other Cambridge Colleges, and of other locations, as well as a few engravings. With the album is a letter from F.L. Engledow to F.P. White (29 Sep. 1954) regarding its provenance.

Entitled 'The Eagles'. Group photographs of members of The Eagles sports club. Originally founded as The Eagles Lawn Tennis Club in 1876 for the blues of St John's, it slowly accepted membership from other College sports teams. By the early 1890's it had become more of a social society. The album contains annual photographs of the club with lists of those present, together with a note of newly elected members. The results of the tennis matches played are also given up to 1889.

Originally founded as The Eagles Lawn Tennis Club in 1876 for the blues of St John's, it slowly accepted membership from other College sports teams. By the early 1890's it had become more of a social society. The album contains annual photographs of members of the club with lists of those present. Also included are a few other sporting club team photographs and a menu from an Eagles Club formal dinner.
