Everybody is delighted with Beaton's pictures. Trudges up the sinister stairs every day and is met 'by the most gruesome sight'. A 'small room', sloping from all four sides 'to an open hole-waterless'. Beaton can choose whichever pictures he likes for publication. She will deal with the Paris "Vogue".
