Scope and content

Artwork by Cedric Price, predominantly early work from childhood and university, with a small number of later items and designs for promotional material. Chiefly loose items, many of which were originally bundled into a large portfolio; plus a drawing book. [Note: CP's notebooks may be found at Price 1/8.]

Price showed himself to be an excellent draughtsman from an early age. The work is in a variety of styles: graphic designs, line drawings (including technical), diagrams, doodles and sketches, rough and fine work. Some are abstract subjects, most are concrete; many concern buildings (mostly domestic) observed or imagined, boats and marinas, landscapes and seascapes.

Media includes pencil, coloured pencil, draughting pen, watercolours, biro, prints. Also includes some photocopies (colour and black-and-white) of originals.
