Biographical history

Morton was admitted to St John's College in 1889 following schooling at Belfast Royal Academy and Queen's College, Belfast. He graduated BA in 1892, as 8th Wrangler in the Mathematical Tripos. Morton then returned to Queen's College, Belfast, where he served as Assistant in Natural Philosophy (1892-7) and then Professor (1897-1933). He published various papers in 'Philosophical Magazine', 'Proceedings of the Physical Society', and 'Proceedings of the Royal Irish Academy'.

Congratulates Glover on his Fellowship, which he heard about from Darby. Complains that Haslett forgot to send him a letter on the day the Fellowships were announced. Hopes that Glover will be well enough to 'enjoy the company of that bevy of lady friends'. Sends news of himself.
