Upper Gore End & Birchington: H. Maxted

A map of Upper Gore End and Birchington Kent, by Henry Maxted of Canterbury 1741, copied from a map by Thomas Hill 1678, coloured with topographical details (84 x 81 cms). The map is enlivened with drawings of houses, standing crops and contains a floral cartouche and compasses.

The original scale is approximately 12 perches to 1 inches.

Map `a survey of Upper Gore End farm in the parish of Birchington and St Nicholas at Wade, Thanet, [Kent]', with reference, by G. Hutson, coloured, (71 cms sq.) It has a floral cartouche of roses; it is a copy of SJES/BRK/1/3 but lacks a plan of the farmhouse.

The original scale is 16 perches to 1 inch.
