Kirby's Farmhouse

Plans to a design for a farmhouse and buildings at Ashwell Herts., for St John's College Cambridge, by Richard Harwood, coloured. There are 3 large sheets which relate to the ground plan & general layout, first floor plan, elevations & sections and 4 smaller sheets which are amended plans to the original elevations for the additions to the house. Also includes are the rough specifications for the farm's outbuildings.

Maps: Atwick lease (1793-1840)

Includes: map cut from lease of SJC lands at Atwick, Yorks., by Alexander Watford, with reference, pencil crop notes and notes of boundary changes 1840; also includes two maps of College lands

Tithes: Glassonby

Includes items relating to the tithe commutation award in Glassonby; reversion of the tithe rent charge and lands for what would become Tarn House Farm.

Drainage

Includes a drainage map of the north-west of the SJC estate [probably Kirby manor farm] by J Bailey Denton Engineers and a sketch plan of drainage at Ashwell.

Exchange: Babraham

Includes a deed of exchange between the College and Henry J Adeane for land in Babraham.
Also includes a counterpart licence between the College and Francis Pym (executor for the will of John Adeane) to assign premises comprised in an Indenture of Lease dated 2 July 1845 to John Kendall.

The documents relate to lands in Babraham fields, Cornhill's closes/fields, Brown's closes/fields, part of View furlong and part of Clunch Pit furlong.

Includes: 2 counterpart leases for Romney Marsh; one relates to a farm at Romney Marsh and the second to grazing lands in the same parish. Individuals named include John Hart and George Stringer Court.
