Chapel Services: Registers

Registers of Chapel services showing attendance figures and names of preachers. Also some volumes include correspondence, notes and documents related to special services. Included in Vol 1 is a letter from Maurice Myers to the Dean with four stamps and the Order of Service of the marriage of Peter David Alston and Elizabeth Stephen Wordie (11 April 1953).

Register of Fellows, Officers and Scholars

Registers of admissions of fellows, college officers including lectors, and scholars and other foundationers from 1545. These give details of county / diocese of origin and to which foundation elected. Volume 1 (1545-1612) includes lists of pensioners from 1553 and scattered College orders.

Letterbooks: RF Scott (1908)

Letters written and received by Robert Forsyth Scott during his time as Master. Letters discuss both academic and domestic subjects including fellowships, College plate and electric lighting. The subject of each letter is written in the margin of volume. The first volume also includes a list of Burchley Preachers from 1898 to 1952 and a list of the date of births of the Master and Fellows of the College.

Henley Crews: LMBC

Volume containing lists of Henley crews of the Lady Margaret Boat Club, (apparently signed in their own hands), with photographs, 1951-72, 1984-1987, 1950 photo only; includes newspaper clipping about Cambridge crew winning US race.

Dinners: Purchas Society

Includes menus, catering instruction sheets, seating plans, correspondence, and other papers pertaining to dinners and other catered Purchas Society events.

Minutes: War-time Emergency

The minutes from the committee meetings including arrangements for RAF Initial Training School (cadets), air raid precautions and shelters, building works, lodging houses and furniture, national service arrangements, National Registration and use of Chapel plate.

Notes on the College Accounts: William Samuel Powell

Includes two small note-books, entitled 'Reasons for altering the form of the accounts of the College, drawn up in the year 1769 by Dr Powell, the Master, and preserved here, because they may help to makle the old accounts less obscure.' The notes are a later transcript, not in Powell's hand.

Also includes a third note-book, possibly an appendix to the above, containing miscellaneous extracts from the Rentals, the Conclusion Book, etc., and a list of papers, 'In the Bursar's Desk'. Written in the same hand as the other two note-books.

Brook Farm

Includes: deeds and other property documents related to Brook Farm.
