Choir School Committee

The minutes and accounts of the Choir School Committee. From 1926 to 1954, the Committee was entitled the Choir School Committee. From 1954 onward, it was known as the St John’s College School Committee.

Christ's College, Cambridge

Charters, accounts, deeds and other documents related to the creation and re-foundation of Christ's College. Christ's College was founded by William Byngham in 1437 as God's House. In 1505, the College was granted a new royal charter, was given a substantial endowment by Lady Margaret Beaufort, and changed its name to Christ's College.

Circuit Lists: College fabric

Circuit lists of electric lights and electrical installation completed by Rashleigh Phipps. The volumes are mostly duplicates of each other but the second volume has details of Chapel Court.

Prints and negatives of the College's present and former estates outside the City of Cambridge, including property in Bedfordshire, Berkshire and Surrey, Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire, Cumbria, Derbyshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Kent, Lancashire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, London, Norfolk, Northamptonshire, Rutland, Suffolk, Isle of Wight, Wiltshire, Humberside and North Yorkshire, and various Northern Estates.

These photographs are typically of farmhouses, cottages, agricultural buildings, farm yards, crop fields, oast houses, livestock, tenants and so forth.

College Recitals

Includes programmes for recitals of music and poetry, including performances by the London String Trio, the Lady Margaret Singers, the Cantilena Singers, and members of St. John's College. Includes poster for recital by Aquila, St John's all female a capella choir, 14 March 2023.

Also includes copies of programmes for recitals given as part of the 1951 Festival of Britain, and the "Pageant for the Coronation Year", in honour of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II in 1953.
