Also includes a continuous boat race chart (SJCS/2/4/9/1) showing colleges' places in Cambridge university boat races 1827-1890, by Walter Harris (co-author of 'The History of the Lady Margaret Boat Club'). The chart was created in 1890 and was included a letter sent by Harris to RF Scott (Master of St. John's College) in 1927.

50th Anniversary Dinner: Purchas Society

Items include a request submitted to the Domestic Bursar for use of the Combination Room; correspondence between Committee members and attendees; a manuscript copy of the dinner speech given by the Society's Senior Treasurer, Dr. Tim Bayliss-Smith; a seating plan; a printed copy of the menu; a printed booklet of banqueting and function menus, issued by the College's Conference & Catering Department [October 1997]; a blank application form; a list of places to stay in Cambridge; annotated guest lists; a breakdown of donations given to the Purchas Society 50th Anniversary Account; and a catering instructions summary sheet.
Also includes a collection of typescript draft copies of the 1998 Purchas Society report for the Eagle, written by the President and with reference to the 50th anniversary dinner.
