Circuit Lists: College fabric

Circuit lists of electric lights and electrical installation completed by Rashleigh Phipps. The volumes are mostly duplicates of each other but the second volume has details of Chapel Court.

Includes: minutes, accounts and papers relating to the servants' contributory pension scheme, servants wages, accounts for the servants' contributory pension fund and regulations of pension scheme.

Includes: Two reports of the Service Committee to council regarding the appointment of servants and charges to students. Also includes notes and correspondence.

Includes: lists of those holding positions on College Committees reporting to Council (standing and some ad hoc) also includes calendars of the College year for 1986-2012.

Library Committee

Includes reports of the Library committee in regards to incorporating the former College reading room into the lower library; the uses of the reading room in connection with the lower library and the binding of books presented to the College by the family of Richard Pendlebury. Also includes a mothing to councile that the 3rd Court Reading Room be incorporated into the lower library with an enclosing letter from JE Sandys.

College Reading Room

Report of the College Reading room Committee. The committee was appointed to consider the desirability of establishing a College Reading Room. Also includes correspondence related to the charges involved for using the reading room.

Electric Light Committee

Correspondence between the Chairman of SJC Electric Light Committee, Benson & Co and the Cambridge Corporation, with a memo for resolution from 1892. Also includes bills for the installation of electric lights certified by JA Fleming.

Dinner for College Members

Report of the Committee, appointed by the Council on 15 Nov 1901, regarding a dinner in Hall to members of the College and to prepare a scheme for the consideration. The Committee suggests that it would promote the interests of the College to institute an annual dinner in the Hall to which all members of the College whose names are on the Boards shall be periodically invited.

Bicycle Store

Report of the Committee considering the need for an additional or larger bicycle store. The committee recommends that the rooms I2 in First Court be allotted as an additional bicycle store from Midsummer 1899. Also included is a report on the proposal to erect a bicycle store and Porters' Lodge or cottage at the end of the Long Walk.

Additionally includes a petition to Council for permission to keep bicycles within the College precincts as it has 'caused much trouble and inconvenience... from the difficulty of having bicycles stored within any short distance of the College, ... much expense in having bicycles kept within the town..."
