Includes sheets of marks pasted in from elsewhere and some carbon copies. Includes writing in hands of Stephen Parkinson and J.E. Sandys and some others.

Examination Book

Examination and scholarship book which has been attributed to Stephen Parkinson, but there is no evidence within the volume to confirm this. Some pages are headed ‘Kings’ and also include names of students under the headings Caius and Trinity Hall. Second half of book contains terms kept with conferral of degrees in a few cases

Attendance Records

Includes: A3 paperback volume of attendance records. Lent term 1876 to Michaelmas term 1877. Includes loose sheet of names headed ‘St John’s College 1893: Dr Sandys List’ with details of Educational Fund credits.

Form Book

Includes: copies of printed forms, notices and regulations (College and University) relating to undergraduate life, annotated by Joseph Tanner. Indexed at back of volume. Also contains a pocket notebook relating to exhibitions and appointments, a notice of assistantships at the British Museum, and regulations of the societies of Lincoln's Inn, the Middle Temple, the Inner Temple and Gray's Inn, inserted at front of volume.

Ledger (1870-1883)

A ledger from 1870 to 1883 recording students with overdue bills who had been cautioned. Students are listed alphabetically by surname at front of ledger and also given a number which refers to a page number in the ledger. At the top of each page, above the student’s name, the ledger recorded when the student had been admitted to the college, when they left the college and what they received academically whilst studying. The ledger includes how much a student owed at various points in the academic year whilst studying. If the student paid their bill, it was recorded how much they paid and the form of payment.

Dinner Plate

Ceramic dinner plate owned by the College bearing the same central design of a zig-zag wall and pagoda as an earlier plate owned by the College cook, James Prior. The border decoration and colour also come from Prior's plate. Plate is chipped around the edges. It bears the SJC stamp and the manufacturer's mark on the reverse.

SJC Accounts: donations & Countess of Devonshire

Accounts of donations received (pp. 1-3) and for money assigned by Henry VIII from Katherine, Countess of Devonshire to Lady Margaret Beaufort's executors (pp 9-15). The last item listed on p.3 is for 6s. paid for a Greek vocabulary bought for the use of the College's library.

Also includes the account of Nicholas Metcalfe for money due to the estate of Lady Margaret.
