Signet letter, no year, Henry VIII to Nicholas Metcalfe and St John's College, cancelling former letters in favour of Richard Ranshaw yeoman of the guard and asking that the reversionary lease of Higham be granted as first directed to John (Jenyns) Canntle, Sergeant of the Pastry.

Richard Potman (court rolls for Headcorn): Richard Clayton

Richard Potman [Pitman}, steward of SJC's courts in Kent, enclosing court rolls of Headcorn and requesting arrears of his fees.
The original letter is addressed to Owen Gwyn, Bursar, and in the body of the letter refers to its bearer, Clayton. However, Gwyn's name has been crossed off the c 20th-century typescript list and it has been catalogued under Clayton (the reasons for this are not known)
