Includes: Loose-leaf sheets recording admissions details of students such as the examination results, schools attended, and course of study. The forms may have been begun by Robert F Scott (Master 1908-1933) but they are in various hands.

Includes: reports by referees on dissertations entered by applicants for St John's College fellowships. These reports are the sole record, the dissertations themselves having been returned to the applicants in most cases (there are some dissertations extant). They are invaluable for the revealing contemporary academic opinions on the subjects discussed. From 1978 onwards the reports were retained in the Master's files on each elected Fellow and those on unsuccessful applicants destroyed.
