Includes: lists of those holding positions on College Committees reporting to Council (standing and some ad hoc) also includes calendars of the College year for 1986-2012.

Committee Minutes: Debating Society

Includes three minute books, containing the minutes for Society meetings, rules, notices, finances, details of officer elections, and members' lists:

Committee Papers: LMBC

Includes an agenda for the LMBC Committee Meeting held on the 3rd October 1972 and a second agenda for the termly general meeting held a few days later on the 9th October 1972. Also includes a prospectus to shareholders looking to invest in a freshers' party organised jointly by LMBC and the St. John's College RUFC, dated 16th June 1973. Also includes lists of books held by the club and presumably loaned to members.

Conclusion Books

Conclusion books of orders by the Master and Seniors of St John's College with copies, extracts and partial indexes.The Conclusion Book ceased to be kept under CM787/4 (14 Feb. 1908) its entries being duplicates of those in the Council Minutes. The orders in the Conclusion Books mainly relate to estate business, presentations to College livings and the appointments of masters to certain schools. They also include some academic and domestic appointments, with some wage details.

Constitution (1978), address list and other papers for Cambridge University Rugby Union Football Club (1977-1978). Also includes; players' lists for College matches (1977); correspondence; players' positions and experience; constitution for College rugby compositions (1977); information sheet for treating minor sports injuries; bill for sports clothing from A.E. Clothier; program from University Varsity match at Twickenham (6 Dec. 1977)

Includes: three copies of the Rules for General Athletic Club [1888, 1912, and 1978] ; a letter from members of the General Athletic Club, concerning the alteration of Club Colours, dated 8th December 1924; a menu card for a sports match between St. John's College and Balliol College, Oxford, dated 29th May 1932; a collection of membership sign-up slips and letters concerning the termination of membership [1955-1959].

Correspondence: LSBC

Includes a letter from Professor Hudson concerning the donation of L.S.B.C. minute books, log book and rule book to St. John's College; account books to follow shortly. He writes that he has had them for many years, since the dissolution of the Club (dated 1st October 1900).

Also includes a letter to the L.S.B.C. Secretary from Arthur Washington Hallen (BA 1858) requesting a place in a boat. Hallen writes that he will be visiting Cambridge next week and would like the opportunity to row for his old Club, of which he was one of the original members. Includes envelope sent from Edinburgh (postal date 20th March 1862);

correspondence concerning the acquisition of a Lady Somerset tankard, 1947-8;

a letter from the Amateur Rowing Association, concerning affiliation to the A.R.A (dated 24th July 1979).

Correspondence: Theological Society

Includes rule book (1907); a note card, dated December 1934 and signed by J.S. Boys Smith (1901-1991), concerning four minute books covering the period from the foundation of the Society from 1884 to 1921 deposited in the Library; an agenda which includes the choice of speakers for the year 1939-1940; and an undated list of speakers from the Honorary Secretary.

Council

The Council succeeded the old seniority of eight fellows and the master in 1882. The minutes record decisions rather than deliberations, but are far more comprehensive than the Conclusion Books.

Crew Lists: LMBC

Includes a single volume of commentaries and crew lists, 1927-44. Also includes a collection of miscellaneous crew lists for the period 1972-73, and crew lists, 1978-2001.

Dinner for College Members

Report of the Committee, appointed by the Council on 15 Nov 1901, regarding a dinner in Hall to members of the College and to prepare a scheme for the consideration. The Committee suggests that it would promote the interests of the College to institute an annual dinner in the Hall to which all members of the College whose names are on the Boards shall be periodically invited.
