'St John's College Cambridge: Excellence and Diversity'
A collection of letters from members of St John's College Cambridge addressed to David Morphet (BA 1961) in his capacity as editor of the book 'St John’s College Cambridge: Excellence and Diversity' (Published London: Third Millennium, 2007). Many contain reminiscences and anecdotes of St John's and Cambridge and some enclose photographs and items of ephemera.

Papers of Roger Francis Griffin
The collection consists primarily of forty-two bound volumes covering Roger Griffin's research and publications from circa 1955 to circa 1991. Topics and publications include observation logs, Observatory Magazine, The Spectroscopic Binaries, Griffin's Fellowship dissertation for St John's, computing, RV reductions, spectroscopy, and radial velocities.
Seven card-index boxes, made by Griffin, contain many years' worth of raw data from radial-velocity spectrometer observations. Digital versions can be viewed at https://www.squarewheels.org.uk/rfg/unpub/ .
There are also notebooks containing material on observations and telescope maintenance, a chart roll of spectrometer output, a 1977 leaflet on the Cambridge North Norway Expedition, and papers on the Cripps development at St John's.

The collection contains literary papers, including notebooks, manuscript and typescript drafts of sketches, novels and scripts; personal papers, including school and university work, notebooks, and ephemera; audio-visual material; and personal effects and artefacts, spanning from Douglas Adams's childhood to his death in 2001. In addition there is a quantity of press cuttings postdating his death. Media other than paper include sound recordings (chiefly reel-to-reel studio tapes; some cassettes); photographs, 35 mm transparencies and plastic negatives (a large quantity of photographic material is from 'Last Chance to See'); and digital backup tapes.
