Material found in D5 New Court during refurbishment, July 2006

  • Collection
  • 1888–1945 (Circa)

This bundle of material was found behind a fixed cupboard in the alcove to the right of the fireplace in room D5 New Court, and includes items belonging to various occupants of this set. During the First and Second World Wars New Court was occupied by military personnel on training courses (D5 was given over to the RAF between 1941 and 1944), and this explains the presence of First and Second World War ephemera among the papers.

Typescripts and offprints of Watson's writing, and that of others, also feature, as do newspaper cuttings, photocopies of research material, and a small number of photographs.
