Would like others to complete chapters on mysticism and witchcraft and suggests Mrs Stuart Moore and Mrs Thorndike. His wife's illness has put him behind by one year and feels he does not have the time to make a good job of it. Has just finished Arts and the Reformation and now has work to do on school history volumes. Will do something for the Bishop of Liverpool but has said that he cannot put a time to it.

Has been made the director of l'Enseignement Superieur. At the outbreak of the War had written the two chapters that he had been asked to. The work requires rereading but will not take long. Had proposed an arrangement with Professor Whitney before he had received the letter involving M Petit-Dutailies and hopes this will still hold good.
