Focuses on Gainsborough's portrait of his daughters Mary and Margaret 'The Painter's Daughters Chasing a Butterfly', with black and white illustrations from the painter's other works. Features a detailed discussion of the artist and painting, and a comparison with children's portraits by previous artists, in particular Van Dyck and Hogarth.
