Loved Beaton's last letter. Explains that he has only just got it as he has been staying with his brother on his island and no letters were forwarded. Tells him about the cottage they stayed in and the area around them. Would love to stay with Beaton in London, but is afraid. Says he will write and tell him before he comes. Tells him that he really wants to see him again. Asks him which photographs he would like.

Thanks Beaton very much. Is sure he did not owe him anything, Is sorry that the party is off. Has to come to London soon so will do the photography. The circus afternoon was divine and had "a quality of strangeness that was haunting & indescribable". Would like to be photographed looking "drowned and picturesque". Beaton's lighting always looks like moonlight.
