Loved Beaton's last letter. Explains that he has only just got it as he has been staying with his brother on his island and no letters were forwarded. Tells him about the cottage they stayed in and the area around them. Would love to stay with Beaton in London, but is afraid. Says he will write and tell him before he comes. Tells him that he really wants to see him again. Asks him which photographs he would like.

Thanks Beaton very much. Is sure he did not owe him anything, Is sorry that the party is off. Has to come to London soon so will do the photography. The circus afternoon was divine and had "a quality of strangeness that was haunting & indescribable". Would like to be photographed looking "drowned and picturesque". Beaton's lighting always looks like moonlight.

Encloses a picture for Beaton, and asks him to give his opinion of it. Thinks the pictures are excellent. Has nothing much to say as it is only about an hour since he last wrote. Wishes he was here instead of rushing about "electrifying London".

Asks Beaton to forgive this short letter as he is very busy. Tells him about the press. Says that he will write one day.

Informs Beaton that he has ordered his paper and will send it as soon as possible. Hopes he enjoys himself in Paris. Tells him that he will be welcomed when he comes here, but the house is not beautiful.

Tells Beaton about his holiday in Cornwall. Informs him that he hasn't done any photographs for ages and all his energy is going on printing. Advises Beaton that there is a new soft focus lens available. Discusses the touching-up process. Asks Beaton to come to visit, Asks him about Ottoline, mentioned in Beaton's last letter.
