Dated June 29 [no year given, but the writer notes that she has wanted to see Ashcombe "for almost twenty years, ever since I bought your book at Beach's". The publication date for Beaton's book about Ashcombe would thus suggest that this letter was written in the late 1960s/1970s.] The letter is signed by Claire Jacquier [possibly a pseudonym? Claire Jacquier is the name also given to a type of yellow/white climbing rose].
