Is afraid Beaton will be depressed getting to Cambridge in this foul weather with an exam and a cold. Believes he will be happy once he has found some nice people. Wishes he was at Oxford and not Cambridge. Thanks Beaton for his letters and bits of clothing. Hopes his exam was alright. Invites him to come and stay with him at Oxford for as long as he wants. Gives him news of his friends and family. Asks Beaton to write to him. Tells him he will send his things to 3 Hyde Park St.

Tells Beaton that he thinks the financial year runs from April 1st to March 31st. Encloses calculations of how much Beaton has earned and informs him that he need not pay much income tax. Tells him to include entertaining expenses. Informs Beaton that he seems in need of a rest, and tells him to give up photography and spend three weeks in the Italian lakes "with someone with whom you are not in love". Will send 12 films, hoping they are for Beaton's own use or else Leng shall be "imprisoned".
