ALS from Beryl Rawson, 34B Farrer Street, Braddon ACT 2612, Australia

Indicates that she has moved 'back to Classics from History' to update the museum catalogue of Roman coins. The colloquium in Rome went some way to convince her that early Christianity was a sub-set of Roman society and worth studying from that point of view. Mentions that she has been asked to contribute articles to the Mainz Academy project.

ALS from Carmen Johanson, Armidale, New South Wales, Australia.

Note to Crook following the death of Godfrey Tanner, who suffered a fatal brain haemorrhage. Mentions that she last saw him by chance in Brisbane in May when he looked frail but ok. Confirms that she will be unable to attend the Requiem Eucharist the following day at Christ Church cathedral, Newcastle, NSW. (A one page note from Prof. P. Goddard, St John's College, is attached which asks Crook for comments to add to a letter to be read out at Tanner's memorial service. A one page telefax from C. Johanson, which precedes her letter regarding Tanner's death is also attached..).
