A copy of the article is enclosed, together with a brief guide to the exhibition 'A bitter truth' at the Barbican, mentioned in the letter, and a note from David Midgley re the donation in 2021.

Papers include a diary of a trip to South Africa in 1905, family correspondence, offprints of papers, and press cuttings. The photographic collections include two photograph albums, loose prints, soft negatives, and over 700 glass plate negatives.

Loose prints originally stored in a variety of photographic wallets and envelopes. None is dated, though some dates can be established where the glass plate negative can be identified. Prints are of landscapes, vegetation, and parts of plants.
