Gives Sandy McAlister as an example of a great scholar. Referring to a previous conversation, advises Glover not to do anything rash 'this time' when he goes to Bristol.

Writes that he is going to Belgium in July because due to the McKinley Tariff trade at the Tin Plate works will be at a standstill.
