Hardback notebook. Includes entries concerning life at 61 Sussex Gardens and Beaton's relations with other family members. Also refers to the acceptance of Beaton's photographs by 'Vogue' magazine in May 1926.

Autograph letter signed to Beaton, from Montreux

Was just sitting down to write Beaton an 'effusive fan letter', when his letter arrived. Invites Beaton to visit any time after Christmas. Has just finished reading "The Years Between". Praises the book. Cannot believe he was such an 'ill mannered clot towards Beaton so many years ago. Is glad that it was many years ago and 'time and a great many tides have obliterated it' but it is a 'strong lesson'. If Beaton can't come for New Year, they will meet in London. Suggests Beaton come to Jamaica any time after the end of January.

Autograph letter to Beaton

Tells Beaton he is sorry for how he feels, but explains that everyone feels like that at times. Feels it is possible to stand being in boring offices for a long time without any permanent ill effects. Discusses Beaton's ideas on beauty. Advises him not to worry about "silly little bills". Second page missing.

Hardback notebook; includes details of Beaton's trip to Venice in August 1926 with the British fashion journalist, Alison Settle (1891-1980) and Mrs Whish, a columnist for the 'Daily Express', to report on a costume ball held by the Baroness d'Erlanger at the Fenice Theatre.
