ALS from Antony Roper, 72 Doxey, Stafford

Thanks Crook for contributing to his enjoyable stay in Cambridge. He makes a technical reference to the appendix at the back of his clarinet concerto. He notes that he was unlucky with his violin sonata competition entry; he reached the last twenty but missed out on the prizes. He reproduces the copy of the reply to his comment to the RNCM regarding the late scheduling of the qualifying rounds of Young Musician of the Year by the BBC.

ALS from Ariadne Staples, 400 Triphammer Road, Apt B1, Ithaca, NY 14850 USA

She is pleased that Crook likes her dissertation and that it requires little work before showing it to publishers. She thanks him for agreeing to recommend her for Law School. She notes that she is settling down in Ithaca, which is 'an extraordinarily beautiful part of the world - especially in the autumn'. Guidance notes on letters of recommendation are attached (2 pages) along with pencil notes of Crook (1 page).
