Part of Papers of Sir Cecil Beaton
Beaton is lucky to be in the country at Christmas. Has just spoken to Greta (Garbo) on the telephone. They have been shopping this afternoon. People followed and recognized Greta and tried to photograph her. Wonders how people recognize her even though she was wearing 'a muffler tied round her head', a seal-skinned coat down to the ground and snow boots. The 'baron' is back in New York but Greta does not see him. Wonders what happened between them. Has no manuscript to send to Beaton. Discusses when to send them. Sends good wishes to Beaton's mother.
