Notes taken during a lecture course on general relativity given by Prof. Fred Hoyle as part of the Cambridge University Part III Mathematics Tripos from January to March 1959. The notes were taken by Mr F.W. Sheard, then a research student in solid-state physics at the Cavendish Laboratory.
