Burns memorial lecture

Material relating to 'The intellectual consequences of the First World War' a free public lecture in memory of Professor James H. Burns, given on 27 November 2013 at UCL. Includes two copies of the text of the lecture, one with pencil annotations, photocopied articles consulted in the preparation of the talk, pencil notes, a poster for the talk, and two personal letters to PCF from Jimmy Burns, dated 1975 and 2011.

Locomotive of war: proposals

Three book proposals: one entitled 'Riding the juggernaut', corrected to 'The locomotive of war', the second 'Three men and two wars' and the third 'The Churchill enigma'. Only the last is dated.

KRIM OUP

Correspondence with Oxford University Press regarding the publication of the Keynesian revolution in the making, from the initial enquiry regarding writing such a book in 1984, through publication schedules, corrections, distribution of copies, reviews, and royalty statements, through to the eventual cancellation of the contract in 2013.

Eighth Erewhon Dinner (reconstruction)

Memorabilia from the 'Eighth Erewhon Dinner' reconstruction, organised by the Samuel Butler Room Society and held at St John's College on Sunday 17th March 2013. Includes seating plan, menu, transcripts of speeches and copies (printed and on disc) of photographs taken during the event.

Kemper lecture

Material relating to the Kemper lecture 'Churchill as author' delivered at America's National Churchill Museum, Fulton, Missouri, in 2013. Includes a speaking text and full draft of the lecture, together with photocopies of some Churchill archival material used by PFC, and a card to PFC expressing appreciation for the lecture.
