Family news from South Africa: school, problems finding work and difficulties with the new home.

Further request to Crook for a reference; to support his application for the Chair of Ancient History in Manchester. His application for Associate Professor was turned down last month. This was the third time. He attaches a draft paper for a conference on Ptolemy II (18 pages)

Informs Crook that Paul Weaver died on the 2nd January. She regrets that she missed the funeral, since she had left for the conference in Rome. She will attend until 15 January, before heading back to Australia.
