Informs that Jack's father William Jack and Adolphus Ward, the then master of Peterhouse, founded the Sexcentenary Club and Ward was possibly A. A. Jack's godfather. Refers to Prof. William Thomson of Glasgow. Writes that A. A. Jack's mother was Agnes Jane Nichol, which has explained to Cecily why she has Prof. W. Knight's 'Memoir of John Nichol' among her father's books. Mentions that she is to address the Swiss Mathematical Society.
