'Sanctuary di San Michele'

Two pen and ink drawings (or prints after pen drawings), mounted together and framed (32.5 x 23.5 cm), for 'Alps and Sanctuaries'. The first, 'Steps Leading to the Church, No. 1' (1882, p.106), is modified by hand with ink and whitener. The second, 'Main Entrance to the Sanctuary' (1882, p.104), is dated July 1880. Both are early versions of the drawings, before the addition of figures by Charles Gogin.
