Includes newspaper cuttings from the nineteenth century; letters and papers used in Parliamentary reports on the slave trade from 1814; accounts of Parliamentary debates and investigations; pamphlets written by Thomas Clarkson, William Wilberforce and other campaigners; pamphlets printed by the Anti Slavery Society in the 1970s; contemporary pamphlets and articles on abolition; material on events commemorating the 150th anniversary of Clarkson's death; contemporary records relating to slave ownership.

Papers relating to the Royal Family. These items formed part of a collection of papers found in the drawer of a dresser in the drawing room of the Master's Lodge in 2004. Other items from this bundle relating to Masters and the Master's Lodge (c. 1908-90) are now in the College Archives.

There is also a heavily annotated copy of a Loeb Classical Library edition of the Odes of Pindar, published in 1924. (Dates approximate. The bibliography in volume 1 of the notebooks contains references up to 1933.)
