Thanks Katherine for an 'interesting and inspiring' review of 'Alison Cairns' in the A.U.R. [Aberdeen University Review]. Clears up a misuderstanding about a comment of Max's that appears in the book. Gives background information about how she developed the structure and content of 'Alison Cairns'. Explains that she omitted items at David Cairn's request, apart from Alison's break with Robert Hurd. Mentions the review's reference to Cranford. Explains why she could not write a lot about Elsa in 'So much love, so little money'. Believes she still has a way to go in the process of grieving for Alison. Mentions that Hatchards have been selling 'Alison Cairns'. Refers to her cousin, Dr Archie Macnair who is a G.P. in S.E.Q. [South East Queensland?]
