Congratulates Glover on his election to the office of Public Orator. Tells an anecdote about J. E. Sandys' lectures on Pindar, mentioning F. C. Turing and A. Y. Campbell. Reports that Dewick is settling down at St Paul's [Calcutta], 'learning to eat rice and curry with his fingers' and talking with Rabindra Nath Tagore. Asks whether J. A. Crowther's pacifism has 'done for him in College'.

Sandys rooms when he was writing his first oration.
