Has been ill and had to stop writing for a while but has recovered and the second volume of his work is at the press. Gives a report on the Bishop's illness and subsequent recovery. Sends the Bishop's regards to various people, and also sends a dozen copies of the 'Discourses'. Expresses his gratitude for help with the 'matter of the Pepys Library'.

Discusses a reply he has made to an attack of his writing concerning a Bishop [Probably refers to J. Jebb, the Bishop of Limerick, whom Forster wrote a biography]. Expresses thanks for information which AJC furnished him with. Gives local news.

Gives information, as requested, on the instruments of the astronomical observatory at Munich which GZ has had constructed. This information has been requested a view to building an observatory at Cambridge. GZ will supply all instruments if required.
