TLS to Prof. Baker from 32 Paddenswick Rd., London, W6.

In answer to Prof. Baker's questions, he describes in detail his war work in the Anti-Aircraft Experimental Section, Munitions Inventions Department. Gives a list of the members of the section, with Cambridge College where known. Also discusses a particular PhD student (unnamed) whose oral examination they will be conducting.

A.L.s., to H. F. Baker

Gives thanks for the parcel of his papers, and suggests that HFB forgets about the RS until the following year when hopefully the situation will be more favourable.

A.L.s., to H. F. Baker

Thanks HFB for his offer [to propose GUY for membership of the RS]. Sends a list of his papers.

A.L.s., to H. F. Baker

Asks if HFB thinks his work good enough for him to become a member of the Royal Society and asks HFB to propose him if he thinks it has a chance of success. Notes the strained relations he has with the only other statitician in the RS, Karl Pearson, which makes the situation difficult.
