Marr of Trinity Hall, Cambridge ('From one full back to another') and by J.W. Hele of Hertford College, Oxford. The reverse features the O.U.R.F.C. fixtures for 1944–1945. Accompanied by a photograph of the match in progress; commentary on the reverse of the photo records a 3–3 draw and describes what is happening in the scene: 'A lineout: David (left wing) approaching the fray. Lyn Wallace (hooker) half-obscured. Myself and John Bance jumping. Brian preparing for his effort. Eric, Gordon and Michael moving up in support. Jimmy (scrum ½), awaiting the ball. Refferee [sic] in obstructive position.'

Autograph note to David Midgley enclosing a copy of an article RAH wrote for an ex-serviceman's CND publication, and a copy of a letter his parents received after months of uncertainty when his brother was posted missing in action during World War Two.

Typescript letter from RAH to David Midgley, commenting on the manuscript of his article 'The word and the spirit. Explanation of the irrational in Kafka, Doblin and Musil'. Comments on the difficulties he has reading psychoanalytic literature.

Letter from RAH to David Midgley commenting on his article 'The ecstasy of battle' and discussing attitudes to war. A copy of the article is enclosed, together with a brief guide to the exhibition 'A bitter truth' at the Barbican, mentioned in the letter, and a note from David Midgley re the donation in 2021.

Collection of photographic prints and drawings of ferns and parts of ferns, kept together in an envelope. Some of these were used to illustrate RHY's article "Two Malayan 'Myrmecophilous' Ferns, Polypodium (Lecanopteris) carnosum (Blume), and Polypodium sinuosum, Wall". Annals of Botany Vol. XVI, no. LXII, June 1902.

Drawings of various sizes of plants and parts of plants. A few are dated variously 1917-18. The publications for which these drawings were produced have not yet been identified.

Eleven original sketches used to illustrate 'Fruit-dispersal in adenostemma viscosum : a biological study', published in the Annals of botany Vol. XX, No. LXXIX, July 1906. Various iterations of the same subject are present.

Modern prints from RHY's negatives of his trip to Italy and Switzerland in 1902-3. Many of the prints correspondence to glass plate negatives. RHY's numbering has been retained where known.
