Letter to Beaton

Typescript letter, regarding the possibility of Beaton talking to Gladys Cooper [who played Mrs St Maugham in Selznick's production of "The Chalk Garden"] about her teeth and about her delivery of certain lines of the play, which Bagnold presently feels are not right. She writes that Cooper has been rather confused and nervous about the play, and that Beaton is the only one who can speak to her about the issues she is having. Bagnold reflects that "This is perhaps the worst experience I have ever been through. The ghastly battles (needless) in which I am always involved. The hates and the dramas".
