This material complements section C, Research. A number of publications relate to research folders in section C. Cross-references are included where appropriate. There is also more coverage of Jeffreys's later mathematical interests, which are under-represented in section C. Biographical material on Girtonians assembled by Jeffreys. Includes biographical accounts, obituaries and orders of service (funeral and memorial), and correspondence. It was assembled over many years and includes earlier material.

Chronological sequence

The bulk of this material dates from the 1980s and 1990s. The content is enormously diverse. Thank you letters, sometimes charmingly illustrated, from young children, may be found next to reminiscences from aged contemporaries, chatty letters from former pupils next to detailed scientific correspondence.
