Small Japanese cabinet

Wooden cabinet, measuring 14.5 x 12 x 7.5 cms, with five drawers, containing pin fasteners, an art sponge, and small tubes and blocks of Windsor & Newton paints. This is the smaller of two Japanese cabinets in the collection; the larger is XI.8. [The cabinets are referred to in a letter from Miss Savage to Butler dated 18 April 1882, indicating that Butler had acquired them before that date. See note in Henry Festing Jones's catalogue, pp.54-55.]
