Thirty-four drawings on paper, mounted in one album. Inscribed by Henry Festing Jones: 'These drawings all have their names & dates on them. They were all done under Butler's auspices & generally in his company. They may be said to be the work of His Pupil Henry Festing Jones March 1918'. [No. 79 in Henry Festing Jones's 1921 catalogue.]

'Snap-Shots taken by Samuel Butler Esq.' Five albums, containing a variety of black and white photographic prints, arranged chronologically (with the exception of Album 5, which spans the whole period covered by the other albums). The collection includes numerous scenes from Butler's travels in England and Europe, street and rural views, images of architecture and works of art, and informal portraits of Butler's friends and acquaintances. The prints in Albums 1-4 are labelled, with title and date, in the hand of Alfred Cathie (Butler's valet, friend and photographic assistant). Some of the prints in Album 5 have been retrospectively labelled by Henry Festing Jones.
