Peter Pulham. Autograph letter to Beaton.

Is sure Beaton will enjoy Vathek if he will accept such a battered copy. It was written when Beckford was 22, inspired by the Christmas party. Later he had silk tents designed and camped out on the shores of Lake Geneva. There is no really good life of him. He once wrote a short one. Perhaps he should revive it.

Enjoyed Beaton's letter. His Hollywood experiences sound "too amusing". Tells Beaton about her Christmas celebrations. Has been to Dudley and Edna's wedding. Wishes she was coming to Paris. Sends her love.

A friend of his wants to know if Beaton would take her photograph. Hopes Beaton will as she is charming. Gives Beaton her address so that he can let her know. Hopes to see Beaton in London soon. Invites Beaton to come and stay in Paris with him.

Thanks Beaton for his letter. Is sorry Beaton is disgusted with life. Thinks Beaton should go to Salzburg for the Reinhardt productions. If he could get in touch with Reinhardt it might be useful for him. If nothing comes of it, he will have still met some interesting people and seen some original productions. If Beaton could send photographs or write from there to one of the papers, they might pay some of his expenses.

Asks if Beaton really wants to photograph 'all those accents'. Discusses what he has been doing. Expects to be in Paris in November. Discusses various acquaintances. Is being photographed by Baron Bucoviek. Is writing a book on Paris. Discusses 'Silhouette'. Discusses the opera. German "Vogue" wants him to work for them. Suggests Beaton come to Berlin for a week.

With brief manuscript note by Beaton headed 'When in love'.
