Correspondence relating to PFC's paper on balanced budgets for the Gresham Conference, including comments from Nigel Lawson forwarded by Walter Eltis. Includes tables of statistics - both printed and manuscript, and offprints relating to budgets and the national debt. A card from the Centre for History and Economics seminars for the Michaelmas Term 1996 includes a reference to PFC's seminar 'Keynes, Buchanan and the balanced budget doctrine' given on 20 November, attached to a poster on Ken Clarke's budget which was shown in the seminar.
