Notebook

Marked inside cover Cedric Price Form IIB [at Alleyne's Grammar School]. Manuscript notes, diagrams, and drawings in ink, biro, pencil and coloured pencil. Largely unused: four leaves at front, three at back, one window doodle in middle.

Ledger used for writing, drawing, and as a 'murder scrapbook'.

Foolscap-sized book used from both ends (a) flyleaf inscribed 'Cedric Price, 1943, Wayside, Lichfield Rd, STONE. his book', followed by pencil, ink and watercolour doodles and drawings, and a few pages of a story which peters out in chapter IV (33 leaves); (b) [inverted] newspaper cuttings of manhunts and murder trials, c.1946-47, with some loose cuttings (63 leaves).

Children's story paper

'The new crime digest & bright comic' Vol.1, no.4. Published by "Chasan" Co Ltd, [publisher unknown: possibly a schoolboy invention, the paper compiled from various sources?]. Appearance is as xerograph office publication typical of the time. Two corrections in blue ink. No illustrations.

"Chasan product" pamphlets

Small bundle of fliers advertising 'high class duplication' for greetings cards, tickets, programmes, addressed envelopes and notepaper 'from a branch of the Chasan organization'. Likely to be a schoolboy enterprise.

Scrapbook of newspaper cuttings on buildings and the built environment (images with brief accompanying transcripts).

Apparently chiefly from various series in The Times. Section headings: 'The English Countryside'; 'English High-Streets'; 'A Miscellaneous Collection' (includes small cutting of winners of Alleyne's Grammar School cross country races--Bartlam, Gerrard and Finnemore); 'Drawings by Hanslip Fletcher: Interiors-- Section 1', 'Ancient Homes-- Section 2', 'Famous Places-- Section 3'; 'Famous Homes of England for which New Uses are Being Found'. Section headings in decorative lettering (coloured pencil). Bundle of loose cuttings toward back of book. Labelled at much later date 'Buildings Scrapbook, c. 1948'
