Thinking of sending four different methods of calculation of same for inclusion in Nautical Almanac. Pontecoulant unlikely to be persuaded of JCA's and CD's method. LeVerrier likely to come to unpleasant discovery of the truth.

Has carried the work further since publication and has a better method: sets out some more results for CD's use and for him to communicate to the [French] Academy of Sciences on JCA's behalf. Acknowledges copies of papers received from CD.
